Accountancy and Finance BA (Hons)

Accountants have an important role in all business organisations, including the not-for-profit sector, as they provide information vital to their survival and development. The accountant's function is not confined to basic record-keeping but incorporates management information relevant to the financial appraisal of business activities and the corporate reporting of those activities to external parties.

An accountant's skills must include a thorough understanding of conceptual and practical accounting, both management and financial. Accountants must also have the ability to communicate, deal with human resources effectively and appreciate the legal and economic environment of organisations.
